On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the CLL Majors Green Sox faced the Portland / Powell Volcanoes at the Essex field. This was a tough game for our boys in green. Score-wise the teams were fairly equally matched until a few innings into the match-up. The Volcanoes had the bases loaded and one of the two girls on the Volcanoes squad smacked one to the fence in the corner of left field, driving in a couple of runs and opening a lead that would not be closed. The Volcanoes played a great game and we'll be looking forward to a rematch later in the season. Until then our boys will just have to live with the fact that their first loss was handed to them by, among others, a couple of girls!

My favorite strike call of the game. The batter and most of the Green Sox bench were not fans of this particular call...
