The District Championship meet was held on October 23, 2013 at Westmoreland City Park. It was a gorgeous fall day, ideal for running. There were lots of personal records set on the course.

I particularly enjoyed watching the top two boys battle it out for first place. These two guys, one from Rowe and one from Happy Valley, have been trading wins all season and pushing one another to improve each week. This week the win happened to go to to Happy Valley.

2012 Girls Champion - Meet held at Happy Valley Middle School in torrential rain. One heck of a run!

The top girl from Rowe dominated last season until sidelined on the course with illness at the District Championship in a torrential downpour. This season she was back and pretty much owned every event (I think she missed meet #1), this time taking the championship under clear skies. The 2012 District Championl, from Rock Creek, had another stellar season finishing 1st in meet 1 and 2nd in each of the subsequent 4 meets.

Congratulations go out to the Rock Creek Middle School girls and to the Happy Valley Middle School boys for winning their respective team championships!
