Stacie & Michael - Dec 7, 2013

Last week I had the opportunity to shoot Stacie and Michael's wedding.  This was a small (I guess you'd call it "intimate") ceremony held at our local chapel in Happy Valley. I had a great time documenting this special event, and, as a bonus, I got to speak lots of Spanish for the first time in a long time as I mingled with the guests and photographed the festivities.

This wedding was a little different for me to shoot than the last. The biggest difference was that we were indoors for the whole event in a pretty dark hall. The low light makes for great atmosphere, but it makes photography a little trickier. I had my lovely assistant holding my off-camera flash for part of the event, then I popped it into the hot shoe and wandered the crowd shooting on-camera with a Rogue Flashbender and diffusion panel.

Oh, and my little business just took another step forward in technology. I added eye-fi capabilities to my kit and set up a 35 inch flat screen to stream live event photos in the hall. It wasn't without a few glitches, but I think this will be a nice option to offer in the future. I caught lots of people checking out the event photos in between bites of delicious Mexican cuisine and wedding cake!

Check out a few of my favorite shots in the gallery below.
